Was planning on heading to Hopedale this weekend but starting today it will be 10-20mph all the way to Saturday.

Wit the cool temps I would think the trout will be in more protected water but not sure.

Would yall postpone or give it a shot?

I hate fishing in the wind.
I guided for a while and when it was windy the decline in the amount of fish coming across the cleaning tables was significant. Guys who were putting 50-75 fish scratch up 12-25 fish.
Unless you have nothing else to do and not going fishing results in going to a baby shower or doing yard work I would skip.

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day doing work.

If it’s the only day you have to fish, in that wind try the deep spots in Engineers Canal and Bayou Alphonse. If nothing there then doubtful they’re biting anywhere close by.

Just be aware you may have company from the regulars who fish out of Hopedale and know those spots.

You’re going to be 4 days after a front and high wind. Thats no bueno my friend. You will probably still catch specs but they will be smaller and you will need to be in a protected area. Odds of catching decent reds will be high.

No and highly aggravated about it. I don't have many free weekends but driving in from TX to battle shitty conditions wasn't ideal.

Good luck and lie to me if yall hammer them.

Wind wasn’t too bad but fishing was slow. Birds aren’t working, fish weren’t biting. We picked up a few here and there.
