2018 F150 price opinions

Spend some more time and read around in this thread. There are a ton of relevant helpful posts where people share exactly what their truck MSRP was and what the out the door price they got. Quick glance at it seems like you should be able to get a better deal than that.

How did you come up with this figure? Is it a guess or experience?

Experience.

The way I handle this is look at all big 3 prices on cars.com and autotrader. Look out of state, even 1000 miles away. Find the trucks with the best listed price reductions. There will be some listed with 12-13k off easily. Start negotiating with them over email. After you have beat them down as much as you can then you can start negotiating with your local dealers. Play those figures vs their figures. Play the figures for the other brand trucks vs theirs. Let them know you don't care what brand you get you just want a great deal. If you get a so-so deal that is close like say 12k off, blast all the dealers in the area and give them a chance to beat it. Let them know you are talking to other dealers and that you are ready to buy TODAY. Someone wants to sell a truck. Also let them know you aren't playing games that you will walkout with the quickness if they try and play games.

You have to be aggressive.... But you can save yourself many thousands of dollars. These guys know a certain segment of the population will not really negotiate. That's lagniappe. Where they make the real money is hitting goals on selling a certain amount of vehicles. A slow rainy day may mean a few extra thousand off to move a vehicle and get closer to the goal.

I initially got a price through Costco on the exact vehicle I ended up buying and then went from there. I believe the Costco price was $52,000.

Look up bolton ford in Lake Charles and see if they have a truck you like. If so put in an internet request for price and ask for Colby Smith. I was shopping in Houston for my new xlt and they beat their deal.

You should be able to get $12-15 off a Lariat. oddly enough I'm seeing XLT's for over 17K off.

Just tells you how overpriced they are.

Man, I was looking at F150s, but that price has me thinking otherwise.

Check out the ram. You can get the new body style for 15-16 off, maybe more. Those trucks are really nice.
