Damn you beat my thread by 3 mins

Liberty, MS
60 deg Light rain
Box stand on edge of field/woods
Rem 700 .308 locked and loaded

Only my third hunt of the year. Having an almost three year old and a six month old has cut down on my time in the woods for now. Was supposed to bring my son with me but he ended up with an ear infection. Wife thought that meant I’d be staying home as well, she was wrong...but I’ll pay for it later.

Sat at a standstill in Henderson on i-10 from Houston for three hours. Regular 5-1/2 hr trip took 8-1/2. Gift make this weekend count!

Saw 2-3 deer as I got in my truck at the camp, hopefully that means they’re moving

Double wide box on top a levee. Got my 11yo girl and 8yo boy. Seen 1 doe so far. Deer been moving all night on cams. Happy to see deer each hunt. Just wish I had an opportunity on a shooter buck. Doe season has been closed for 2 weeks now.

We have 3 kids, haven’t shut down anything permanently yet. Even though we say we are good with 3.

I only hunt 2hr and 15 minutes away so it’s not bad.

Starting to see breaks in the clouds

Was shocked I could get across the creek this morning. Went to a box stand on narrow planted lane full of scrapes. Just wasn’t cutting it. I gotta get somewhere I can see more. Moved to a platform about 30’ up between 2 crp fields. Got coffee, water, snacks and snuff. May sit all day just for the hell of it
