The only thing that I can forget that will stop me from going (besides gun and ammo) is a thermacell when it's necessary. We have biblical mosquitoes and I'm not going die on a 70 degree day. I can make do without everything else, but I do always have a watch on and a knife in my pocket. Always bring a compass as well but I can make do without.

I've ;eft my rain gear twice at the camp and decided it wasn't worth going back to get...............I got freakin soaked both times. Once with my 8y.o Son that almost ruined him hunting. I have a few shirts that are missing sleeves and a few skull caps that were donated to the forest when I ran out of TP. I should probably revisit having my first cup of coffee right before I leave in the morning.

I went out earlier this year, and forgot that my roll got wet the last time I went out. It was falling apart when I needed to use it, so I had to sacrifice my socks.

So....make sure you have a good roll

You can wipe your arse with a wet towel, shirt, sock, or rag, but it's tough with wet toiled paper.

Good lord some of y'all bring a ton of shite in the woods. I generally just trade out work boots for hip boots, grab the gun off the rack, stick a bottle of water in my back pocket and go.

I have everything in a Camelback that is usually in the truck with me. I just fill it with water, and I'm ready to roll

Thermacell, off, water, knife, TP, compass, gps.

I seem to always have more than this but that is pretty much my bare minimum.

Backpack with 2 waters, headlamp, thermocell early season, little buddy heater late season, batteries, and my .45. Too many big hogs around here not to have it.

Really? I dont think I have ever heard a deer coming even when I happen to be luckily staring exactly where they come out

Yup, but then again, I am always bow hunting in thick woods, sometimes palmetto, with lots of dry dead leaf cover. Probably my favorite part of any hunt. Oh, and frick an armadillo.

In my limited experience I have too. I always thought deer were stealth-ninjas and sometimes they have seemingly appeared without warning but a lot of times I've heard them make a bunch of racket.

Hearing them in water is the best IMO.
