I've got stands I can drive my truck to but I'm ate up with the young and dumb so the worse the weather is the farther away I end up it seems like.

I do laugh at the people who piss in water bottles and wash their clothes with pine cones and shite. I killed the 2nd best deer of my life wearing a blue T shirt and blue jeans, with a half a can of Copenhagen in my lip, making more noise than an armadillo in leaves, and had just finished pissing and taking on the phone. Shot it at all of 10 yards away

I'm a firm believer in hunting off the ground. The box stands are nice and all, but there's a whole lot of land I like to get up in. When the rut is on box stands rule but otherwise I'd rather go find him than wait for him to walk out.

Which is why I never go without a compass. No matter how much "swamp sense" (as I heard one guy say) you think you have, north ain't always where you think it is. I spend lots of time in the woods at night coon hunting and the North Star thing sounds all well and good until it's cloudy as shite and you can't see more than one star at a time.
