Wait this is hilarious. Is he just trying these now for shits and giggles? The contest itself is over right?

He has almost an entire foot above the bar but grazed it with his knee coming down. Wow.

I really have a hard time pulling for him. Absolutely admire and respect how good he is…but did literally chose to not rep USA.

He made the best choice for him and literally anyone would do it. I loves the USA and LSU (purple and gold pole).

I replayed and his standards are already at 80cm by the looks of it.

ditto. I understand all the reasons why he doesn't compete for the US, but I still don't have to like it

Think he just told his dad that he wants to keep it the same to challenge himself.

Sweden gave him everything he could want, even allowing his dad to be his coach.

The US basically told him he had to change coaches and oh we don't have much support for pole vaulting. That's what I was told

He made a good call for his career.

Sweden allowed his dad to coach and cleared more age restrictions. He's the most popular athlete in Sweden and is making more money. He absolutely made the right choice. His mom is from Sweden and he's a dual citizen. Sure, I wish we could claim the greatest pole vaulter of all time, but he correctly chose Sweden.

Lol aight.

Don’t really give 2f about other countries save for something other worldly like Usain Bolt. And even with him I was pulling for the impossible, Gay to upset him.

"Standards" are the distance of the bar from the box horizontally.

Oh I’ll talk out of both sides of mouth here: I’d probably advise my son to do the same.

But I wouldn’t expect Americans to fawn over him if he did.

Don’t get what’s so “off” about that. Real weird if you ask me.
