I have been working on offshore drilling rigs since 95', started as a roustabout worked way up to night pusher. Only on Jack ups, no deepwater. Transocean and Cameron are eventually going to be hung out to dry, BP is taking all the heat but it's Transocean's rig and BOP's. Cameron made the BOP's so they will get hit hard too.

Dad: All his life in Oil and Gas/Petrochem from everything from a Fishing Tool to a welder/pipefitter to piping designer. God called that piper home...guess he needed some design work done.

Me: 5 years in instrumentation and pipefitting in Petrochem...then I got smart.

Father-in-Law: Presently and seems like forever...works for Haliburton.

Redstick, as an old mudlogger and well logger, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
This has been a question of mine from the beginning as to how this could have snuck up on them from a mile away.

Again, there should be multiple eyes on the pits in that situation. The safety of a drilling rig should not be left up to only the mudlogger.
