Just to make this clear, since you seem intent on leaping to the most extreme illogical conclusions, I don't think I've ever said don't criticize them for the spill; but I am reticent to criticize efforts, particularly on an extremely technical issue like cutting kill lines, etc. when you have the number of people, civilian & military/government, who know a shitton more than me overseeing every single element. I don't think its fair to just jump to the conclusion that because they didn't do something you think they should have done, they must be idiots who just f'ed up.

Not going back to read all yalls bs but to put all the ppl working on this into one group and say that they are idiots is just stupid. The smartest ppl in the field are on this and if you think they are just randomly throwing shite out to try then you obviously dont know anything about what going on.

Very informative paulie. Thank you for the link. It's from BP so sure there's some spin but nevertheless, it lays out the plan in excellent detail.

Yes, it is good to see them finally have multiple plans in place which address the short term / intermediate / long term; I have a good feeling that this LMRP cap is going to finally work (fingers crossed) and then they can finally focus on cleanup. Like you said the plan is very detailed and they have engineered some unique components for this application. The elastomer seal on the LMRP to minimize / eliminate the hydrate formation will be key.

Um-teen engineers from every major oil company, not to mention Coast Guard, state & fed officials working on this thing 24-7, but they just all f'ed up in your humble opinion, right?

That I do not know. It seems the lenses would just be useless after a little while. I work for the pipeline repair div. Out of morgan city where they manufacture all our rovs so I don't know all the end and the outs. I know our newer ones have 7 cameras including 1 hd

No that comment was more directed to the umpteen major oil company , Coast guard , State & Fed officials who f'ed up and allowed this to happen. You're saying they are all infalliable now?

In the immortal words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?!?!". Lets keep this thread for technical discussions on the stop-leak efforts.

Cool. I understand. Rant away if you want to. But I just don't think that the "Oil Kills" or "Crucify BP" attitude is really appropriate to the discussion here or helpful overall.

NOTE: I am not saying you are saying those things. I guess what I am saying is that I really like seeing technical critiques ("They should have put that mud mat down three days ago when they had slack time on the ROVs). I am not much interested in the lynch mob style of comments.

But then again, I guess I have ranted my share. So say what you want.

Hey guys, I just got home and am posting under the husbands account....question for you...

When do we think the cap will be lowered?

I am on the west coast (temporary, from OB) so I may stay up as late as I can to watch.
