However there have been endless oversights , ommissions , errors etc that are just part of BP's culture . Would not surprise me at all if they made another at this critical juncture.

Um-teen engineers from every major oil company, not to mention Coast Guard, state & fed officials working on this thing 24-7, but they just all f'ed up in your humble opinion, right?

No that comment was more directed to the umpteen major oil company , Coast guard , State & Fed officials who f'ed up and allowed this to happen. You're saying they are all infalliable now?

Yes, of course, that is precisely what I'm saying.

And if you're so knowledgeable, why are you sitting on here instead of in a control room?

Cause I don't know jack shite about this. But I do know that the same company that f'ed this up with at least a half dozen major ovesights , and safety flaws is now trying to fix it. So if they make another big mistake I'm not gonna be surprised.

Well, as the saying goes, sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

And to answer your question, I think you're a fool to criticize them for not doing something when you don't know know "jack" about it, in your own words; and I think you're foolish to assume that anyone that is reticent to criticize them must somehow think that the oil spill is a great thing or some such nonsense. But hey, its your opinion, such as it is.
