I apologize for my comments above. As i stated earlier this is a good informative thread. I have not been as frustrated as I was earlier since this thing started. While i personally had reservations about this working it seem to show progress and i wanted so badly for it to work.
I'm sure my frustration is no more important than anyone elses.....hence the apology.

Is there too much water pressure at 5,000 feet to even think about...allowing it to free flow some how hopefully causing the formation cave in? Or is that crazy talk?

If I understand what youre saying is just to let it flow until it collapses, they say it would take months or years for it to empty.

BP knew this was going to fail for days...they dragged this on so that they could make the annoucement on 5pm on the saturday of memorial day weekend when everyone is out of town and won't be watching the talking heads on TV on Tuesday.

BP is run by a bunch of pricks.

Let's ban Hamburgler. He's non-stop complained and got nothing constructive to say. If nothing else, it would make me feel better while not hindering BP's efforts. lol

Why ban him? I kinda agree with his last post.

Checking back in for the first time today and don't like what I'm seeing on that live feed. That's probably the worst I've seen it since this all started. Is that the end of the riser they're looking at?

SlackMaster,

I have been stating my OPINION on this board which one is allowed to do. If you are going to ban people for stating an opinion, this website would be empty. In the meantime, keep those green and yellow glasses on

I agree with this. I try to stay away from conspiracy theories, but it is certainly better for BP to announce this type of bad news when the Stock Markets are closed, so it has a couple of days to sink in before investors rush out and sale their stock.

Sure looks that way. However this is a different viewing angle than they had shown over the past previous weeks.

Figured it had failed when they started cutting the choke lines off the riser.

I still wonder what their recipe was for the mud they attempted to send down hole on that thing.

With all of the Government oversight in BPs command center, is it reasonable to suspect that they might have known if BP was misleading/lying to the public?

True. But this has mostly been a technical discussion among people who have some experience with the techniques in play. A number of people, including me, are grateful for objective insights into the actual procedures that are being used. I, for one, would prefer to keep politics out of it. So, if that is what you have been criticized for doing, then I would prefer that you not do it. If you continue, then I say you should be ban.

That, my friend, is my "opinion."
