I wont lie...if facebook just went away, the world would be happier. It has taught us all (me included) to want to be noticed.

No one really cares.

And privacy of info means a lot more to me than a picture of my lunch being seen by the girl I fingered in 8th grade who I haven't seen in 26 years.

The dumbest fricking question was “What do plan to do about censorship in China?”

As if Facebook had any control over the Chinese government.

It wouldn't solve anything at this point. I think our society is still trying to figure out how to deal with having so much information at our fingertips. Growing pains are to be exepcted

I’m for less government regulation, but the world would be a better place without social media. Shut it all down!

Social media should still make some take IQ tests. The people who have discussions in the comment section rather than putting them in a private inbox are the worst.

There are multiple social media outlets. Twitter is a major competitor. Snapchat is one. There will be others.

I don't think these operate as separately as we might think.

so greyhound, amtrak, at&t, verison, sprint, cab services, can all refuse sell tickets or allow blacks to use their services?

every single one you arent forced to use their service and can go somewhere else yet they are not allowed "by law" to discriminate over who can use their service.

facebook and google are no different and need to be held to the same standards and that does not require the government to step in and decide how they run things. they simply must not discriminate against any groups

Yep.

According to that “guy:”

Facebook is a basic utility that needs regulation.

But the general access to internet isn’t.

This whole uproar is over the fact the Trump campaign might have used the data. When the Obama campaign did and if it was Hillary instead no one would give a shite. I’m tired of this contrived faux outrage.

You're not wrong, but the irony is that the Political Talk wants FB to be regulated too.

This is a joke, right?

It's Grade A political theater.

He should ask how many Senators or their family members have FB accounts or who deleted them when this fiasco started.

They didn't make him testify under oath. Otherwise, that is very much a criminal offense.

Boom!! This is exactly what’s happening. Our nation has become fundamentally fricked up at the core.

I don't know if that is an alcohol-free Zone, but about halfway through it I wish Zuckerberg said "can I get a vodka tonic over here, please".

Or, after being interrupted for the umpteenth time, "Senator, you asked me a question and I'm trying to answer. If you interrupt me again, I'm going to BUY Sonic, open one right here and check your knuckles. Capiche?"
