Captivated by its detail, he decided to get closer for a selfie.

The “statue” – actually a fully grown 15-foot female crocodile named Lalay – lunged at the man without warning. In a brutal attack, she bit down on his arm, then latched onto his thigh and began thrashing him in a violent death roll, a gruesome move crocodiles use to dismember their prey.

Witnesses say the man was trapped inside the enclosure for half an hour. He was finally freed when Lalay’s handler struck the reptile with a chunk of cement, forcing her to release her grip. Emergency responders rushed to wrap his bleeding wounds and took him to the hospital, where he received over 50 stitches.

Seems like it did.

Social media has made people’s common sense and situational awareness drop to near zero. Most people really are much more ignorant than you give them credit for.

Not many people can say they went 30 minutes with a full-grown croc and lived to tell about it.

So he didn’t lose his leg? That’s surprising to me. I would think a large crocodile could take off his leg very easily.

Yeah I know..

But if you are at a zoo and you are split between an animal being real or a statue.. Go with it being real..

I have a very large concrete alligator by one of my ponds. If the time of day is just right, it still fools me occasionally.

The catch is that I assume predators are real until I'm sure they arent. This MFer just sits on them lol

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want to go to a zoo in the Philippines.
