Always stuff around 300 crawfish heads and do 2 pots of crawfish bisque. Still smoke a couple turkey breasts too though.

I want to come eat with y’all. Crawfish bisque.

We did great wolf lodge last Thanksgiving. Was a refreshing change of pace.

You literally only have to eat the traditional stuff once a year. People that are coming over expect it.

My philosophy is just do the traditional things, and have 1 or 2 non-traditional as well.

We do the traditional lunch with my wife's family, and my Dad has started grilling steaks for dinner.

My white-bread family would stroke out and be a feature family in the Thanksgiving day thread on here if we didn't have the traditional spread.

I'm smoking a couple of Boston butts while tending to the turkey. I'll pack it up so family can take it home with them.

The most non untraditional Thanksgiving I had was about 35 years ago when my parents decided to go to Vegas that week. I flew over and met them there. We had our turkey dinner in, of all places, the Denny's on Las Vegas Blvd. You couldn't have asked for a more plastic like dinner complete with turkey, dressing, green beans and cranberry jelly on a styrofoam plate & plastic utensils. Funny thing though, this was Vegas and the Dennys was packed to the limit with people waiting to get inside. It was so untraditionally awesome that I'll never forget it now that my parents have passed. My wife still looks at me in horror when I tell her about it because her family has a very strict tradition of how everything goes for thanksgiving. LOL

Anybody else going non traditional?

We're going to Disney. Going to a buffet on the day of thanksgiving that will be more traditional, but then eating around the world at Epcot on black Friday.

So a mix of both, I guess.

Mostly traditional but imported some Cubans in the extended family and we’ve added Cuban pork and black beans - great addition.
Can't go wrong with that!

Why not both. My family has done Italian dishes at every major holiday ever, but we are Italian...

Since I'm firing up the smoker when I do a turkey, I usually throw on 3 or 4 racks of ribs as well.

If Turkey was worth a shite people would eat it more than 1 day a year

It’s just really not that good of a meat. You have to prepare it just right for it to be decent
