Really solid question. To add if so, what color were they?

clicking through the model runs it seems most of them have it around 970mb or so at landfall so maybe it's not that crazy unfortunately?

970ish and 100-105 is more realistic high end probability IMHO.

It’s a Cat 1, even New Orleans should be able to handle that.

I think you overestimate the abilities of the average New Orleanian

That seems pretty unlikely. Wheres the shear?

Not much dry air around. Has a nice moisture envelope around it.

Honestly don’t feel prepared.

It’s all coming so fast and the fatigue of other storms missing our area just thinking “we’ll be alright”... kind of has me worried now.

Feel like I’ll wake up in the morning with a Cat 2 barreling down on us... and saying fml should have boarded up

You should be prepared for a cat 2

ETA: to clarify, this isn't to say it will BE a cat 2, though it is possible. It's just a good rule to follow to prepare for a storm one category above what is expected by NHC just to be safe.

I agree.

I find it funny that when a storm is heading towards Nola everyone is always talking about the worst case and but this, and but that...

anywhere else it’s always optimistic discussion and other possible landfall possibilities.

Yeah I’m not feeling the power outage and trees falling

Also it’s wild because Thursday AM it will be 50 degrees? So I guess if no power won’t be hot in the house.

It looks like Zeta created its own favorable environment in the gulf.
