same, what would we be looking at for power outages if track/intensity holds in Mandeville? Was thinking a day or two... wondering if I should ramp them back up or just roll with it. Got a bunch of deer meat in the freezer.

Is there any thought of the track being shifted to the west again or is it pretty much only eastern shifts at this point?

Why all the downvotes to this question? Am I missing something here? I haven't paid attention to this thing yet so I'm genuinely asking if the experts believe the track is pretty much locked in now or if it is still a fluid situation.

yes, someone posted here yesterday saying they dont see it getting anymore west than MC...I believe that is accurate. SE LA won't run from this storm.

Just hope its in and out and we get that great fall weather right after.

Crazy that the latest track has it being in the middle of the gulf to almost to Tuscaloosa in 24 hours.

We've seen a little bit of everything this season from storms. From the granny pace of Sally at 2mph to Zeta ignoring every speed limit sign it sees. Then, Marco which just decided it couldn't handle the trip in one vehicle so it decided to take two cars, one going west and the other east.

What they all have had in common is early, extended periods of being a complete and utter mess that only served to dick with early long range forecasting. It is a hurricane season fit for 2020, for sure.

The good news is that models and forecasters alike learn more from a season like this than most others.

Hopefully it falls apart before landfall anywhere along the Gulf Coast but I've got a couple of leaning oaks from the previous storm that are no doubt gonna fall on my shop if we get even 30 or 40 mph sustained winds in Southwest MS. Guess its time to fire up the chainsaw and do some climbing.

It's not you. They definitely move the cone. It started several years ago but they don't even try to hide it anymore.
