In that FB post by Mandeville PD it says CLECO crews would "work sun up to sun down"... Uhh, those bastards don't have any portable lights?

That sucks if true. I've seen Alabama Power linemen up in the bucket working on a transformer at 2 am one time after a tornado where 25k or more customers were without power. They usually do a wonderful job of restoring service. There is widespread outages here in AL right now and I'm pretty rural so I'm expecting to be without power for at least another 24-48 hrs at worst. But if it goes past 48 hrs, I'm gonna be highly irritated.

Liar. You and your uncle were in the same hut when it collapsed, and you ran out like a pussy crying that he was dead. Then the "foreign frick" and his "cuck" buddy saved him putting you to shame. Later, your uncle helped the "cuck" rescue that little girl after you refused to do so. That's why he disowned your arse.

When you going to the festival, make sure you watch out for the little wooden drum "baby rattles." And if you get your arse kicked, don't be a pussy about it and say you want to die.

I dont work for cleco, but they still had quite a few local crews over in lake charles area from that hurricane.

I imagine they are stretched pretty thin right now.

Power just came back on about 30 mins ago in Covington behind Lakeview Hospital. It’s nice living on the hospital grid.

Still out across the highway, no eta from CLECO

A lot of those guys (some power companies anyway) are obligated to have 8 hours of “rest” in between 16 hour shifts. So depending on where they’re lodging, 13-14 hours of sunlight is a full day of work

Last night was crazy.

In the eye of the damn storm, my uncle tried to get me to climb up the village water tower to save a little girl but I refused, it was too dangerous. Then some foreign a-hole one-ups me and climbs up there to save her. Then it all fell down and landed on my uncle. Wouldn't you know it, this same foreign frick and his cuck buddy go and karate chop the wood in half to save him. Then my uncle disowned me on the spot, in front of the whole damn village, after everything I've done for him.

But it's ok. They are having a gay little paper lantern festival in a couple days, and they'll all be there. I'm going to show them what's up. Not in my village.

10 downvotes? man, people really hated karate kid ii, huh?

I'll just say my brother is a lineman -- he's only 35 but he's physically breaking down this year from all of the work. It's been a very different year for sure ... he's realized he can't do this forever.

16 hour days gets to you .. have you seen how some of the guys have had to get to areas???

13-14 hours of sunlight aren't happening. It's past the equinox, when every place on the planet gets 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark (that was Sept. 22 this year), so the days are shorter and getting shorter every day.

Hickory, I don't know that it's worth it ... it's really been a bad, hard albeit I guess money making year. I don't ask about his pay but I'm sure he'd rather be home with his wife and kids instead of the long hours. It's a trade off for sure.

That is amazing video of the change in direction when the eye came over and you could see the sunset inside it and then the sudden reverse in cloud/ wind direction.

Not to be rude but he knew what he was signing up for when he took the job. He’s getting paid well when many people this year lost everything and now some of them are sitting in the dark.
