The angle and direction the storm is moving it looks like the SE quadrant is wrapping around and hitting Port Fourchon directly with the aid of the 22mph speed of the storm.

The NE quadrant hit PF with an East to West wind. The SE quadrant is hitting PF with a South wind.

It's weird. The update on page 1 has the TS windfield already on the MS coast. But there's hardly any wind right now.

The wind information from the NHC is all based on the maximum extent they’ve found.

The storm winds are found no further out than that, but it’s not some hard and fast border that instantly hits you. That being said, Waveland Yacht Club is at 24 kts as of 4:12, so I have no doubt they’re in TS winds now...

This one will take the eyewall pretty close to NO proper, unless it cuts NE with the quickness.

At least it'll be over in a couple of hours. Go get some drinks and spit game at some stranded passengers.

Really wish I had just sent everyone else up to BR and was riding it out from home in NOLA.

Right now NHC forecast discussion shows
quote:
24H 29/0600Z 32.8N 87.5W 50 KT 60 MPH...INLAND

Which is just south of Tuscaloosa

Now slight uptick in inland wind forecast

quote:

12H 29/0600Z 32.8N 87.0W 55 KT 65 MPH...INLAND

That is about 50 miles SW of Alabaster, 40 miles SE of Tuscaloosa
