This is nuts. I bet a lot of people in SE Louisiana and on the Mississippi coast weren’t really thinking even this morning that they’d be facing a strong category 2, basically borderline category 3, hurricane.

Not sure this is accurate. It made a hard jog East but kind of corrected itself. Path looks unchanged.

What the frick is NWS thinking saying they will get 100mph? Are they the Peej of meteorologists?

fast moving intense storms are a double edged sword. On one hand yes much less rain, and will be out of you hair quicker, but on the other hand the winds will be much more intense and damaging. A quick but hard punch.
