I bought scuba equipment I used a handful of times. I thought I would use it more but the travel proved impractical.

It's not the fiancee you bought the ring for, but all of her judgmental friends.

Marantz CD-R 615 cd recorder. Bought in 96 from full compass systems.
The burner was crap from day one. Superscope Technologies stood behind it. When it worked it was great, which was seldom.
$2500.
In contrast as Sony RDAT I bought along with the Marantz was excellent and still is. Later I learned that the Cd recorder was based on the Phillips cdd2000. There was a class action suit over that drive.

Dell xpsm1330. Something like $1600 4gb RAM 256 hdd. This piece of shite couldn’t play music with stuttering. Irritating as hell. It started falling apart as well and I babied that thing.

1989 Plymouth Grand Voyager.

Total lemon. Had the transmission replaced twice, put two sets of tires on it in two years. Took a beating, but dumped it. I think some Chrysler exec drove it, wrecked it, they rebuilt it and then sold it as new.

They will never get another dime.

Engineered wood flooring. Never, again. It will either be real wood or stone tile.

I wonder all winter why I pay for storage, fuel, insurance, etc. on mine. Then, come June, when Mrs. Tantal and I are leaving our cove for our sunset cocktail cruise, I ease the throttles open and those two Yamaha F150's get the Bourbon Legend up on plane.....then I'm like "this is why."

Water Conditioner. Wasn't needed, water isn't hard. Only needed a whole house filter. Was an early 1st time homeowner at the time.

Salesman was a distant cousin...

in my mid 20's i purchased on the spur an authentic panama hat hand made from some indigenous material, i dont even know now. it was $600 in early 2000s.

ive worn it maybe like a dozen times since then. my only real big ticket item i kinda regret. usually very careful and research what i buy and consider potential use.
