Your thoughts on tipping

How much do you typically tip at restaurants? Do you tip the same percentage even if you only order drinks, or are at a buffet? What situation warrants zero tip for you?

habitual overtipper. 20%-25%.
I did all those gigs in college (waiter, bartender, delivery) and greatly sympathize with those employees. You have to be absolute shite to get 15%. But I completely understand the hatred towards tipping. Employers take advantage.

20-25% if service is being offered
$1-2 bucks at a buffet since they don't really do much
$2-4 bucks for an Uber/Lyft/Taxi

Tipping has gotten so out of hand I cook at home, wash my own car, roll my own luggage and cut my own hair.

I’d seriously be okay with the European model on this industry. Taxes already factored in and no tipping.
When you factor in tips and added taxes, eating out in Europe isn’t that much more expensive.

I'd rather get up and get the food and drinks from the kitchen myself. But I still like to tip decently.

Problem is, they will still want tips
Go to Seattle where this “model” is in place. There are still too jars, space to leave extra tip, etc

Buffets are disgusting, especially when kids are serving themselves.
I exclude the nice serving lines at country clubs and similar places (like Gaston's in Mountain Home).
