I partied a lot at LSU, but damn if I wasn't doing that I was studying...these folks are doing neither. They need harder classes...or more liquor, something.

Because the state cut the funding to the "diversity" department. They were basically the PC police, like last Christmas they sent out an email about why students and faculty shouldn't put up trees because it would offend people. That drew a lot of negative attention to the department and made the officials actually question why they were funding that crap.

Further proof that the real problems are so minute relatively speaking that this is the kind of thing that garners a protest.
If you ever ponder moving out of this country because of this kind of thing, perhaps you should take a moment to understand that you're leaving a country where the worst atrocities college kids can find to protest are the defunding of diversity groups and safe spaces.
This is a "first world" problem if there ever was one.
