When I was a kid ( before cable ) every morning the tv stations would start the day with the national anthem and a message . This is WAGT broadcasting from our transmitter located at …. Blasting out seventy trillion billions of watts … blah blah blah.
And this huge transmitter , blasting out all those watts would travel about fifty miles. Maybe 70 if you had a really really strong transmitter .
But from the surface of the moon , we can blast out a signal with a deep cycle marine battery that covers 240000 miles. Wow.

I like those batteries also that can cool the spacecraft down from 250 degrees to a comfortable 72. Where , here on earth we can’t get a battery to get an air conditioner to cool an r v from 95 to 75 60 years later … where are these batteries? . You would think they would be like pampers diapers which came out of the space program. Those diapers were on the market in a year . I sure would like to buy one of these light weight batteries that can power mucho stuff

Your flip from generally smart poster to absolute retard on this topic is pretty amazing.
asking questions and posting actual photos of what NASA said they drove around the moon is retard now?

We can't ask questions?

and apparently we can't even do that now. That stupid Indian ship that landed upside down couldn't generate real time images yet we had live TV in the 60s as it happened...

60 years before the so called moon landing we barely had working airplanes.

60 years after the moon landing and all we have is NASA's "oops" they accidentally overwrote the secret moon recipe on magnetic tape and not a single one of the 2 zillion ocd engineers thought to jot it down on paper so we're still trying to launch a ship to the moon but it's too hard without those magic tapes.

Eta you know the moon landing recipe wasn't the most important national secret of the last 100 years or anything. Anyone could accidentally erased it or lost it.

You realize this is mostly due to the fact that the earth is spherical, right? RIGHT?!

You aren't just asking questions though

I think it's fair to say a lot of fake stuff made their way into the propaganda campaign. Which muddied the waters and made for decent debate back in the day.

But you can ignore all that stuff, and just look at the satellite images, and how they are EXACTLY where they're supposed to be. The only rebuttals to that are
1) hell of a coinaidence
2) we somehow knew that stuff was there so we targeted those areas as landing spots.
OR
3) we snuck it in years later. Somehow. Without anyone noticing.

None of those are reasonable

All you moon landing-was-real people I have one single question for you and please go on record here because I will:

Do you believe that if and when we finally get a NEW moon landing scheduled that it's going to go off as flawlessly as the 9 or so trips 60 years ago??

Yes or no?

What about if Elon must, with today's technology and efficiency, compared to the 60s, says that the rocket used back then would have needed something like 4 times the fuel that it was capable of holding?

Does that make you question anything? Not all the other stuff....just something simple, like distance and fuel needed.

BTW, he builds space rockets for a living

"The American people don't believe anything until they see it in TV" President Richard Nixon.

You are the idiot if you believe there was a phone call from the moon by the Astronauts to the President after the dune buggy ride.

If we went to the moon, why haven’t we been back? They don’t have a good answer for this. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they stopped going right before VCR technology was available to the common man.

I have heard that , obviously. The logical question would be. … why would the amount of power affect the distance. ? You would just be blasting it off the surface . Any size transmitter would get you miles . But the bigger the transmitter … the more the curvature of the earth doesn’t matter .
And a signal from the surface of the moon. ? 240000 miles ? That’s thirty earths away. But no problem. A deep cycle marine battery can handle that distance

are you under the impression that they woke up one day and landed on the moon? It was a series of like 30 missions over the span of over a decade
It was anything but flawless.

Sure there is. Money and political will. We no longer have to vanquish the Russians. Therefore, there has been no reason to go back. Everything we need to and want to know about the moon we can learn with unmanned missions for much less expense.

Being born in the 1960s, 100% yes. For those that don't remember the cold War, you don't understand how big a motivator that was for the country.

It's a completely dead world, the dust itself is toxic and clings to everything. What is the value of continuing with massively expensive missions to go back?
