I saw him live. It was the most unfunny standup I've ever seen.
People around me were laughing for some reason. It was like the twilight zone or some kind of social phenomenon.
Edit: I'm sure he's funny like in person crazy/funny but not at all a comedian.

I can handle him in some movies. I thought he was funny in central intelligence but the Rock was funnier than him in it.
I don't think I can handle a full comedy show of him.
Dane cook, wasn't funny at all regardless if he was on tour or in the movies.

He's way over exposed now and people are tired of him but his first couple specials are frickin hilarious. The whole cussing at the teacher bit is hilarious

I'm 100% certain a 1983 OT Lounge would have two thirds of the posters talking shite about Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor.
Not to compare them to Dane Cook or Kevin Hart, but essentially any mainstream comedian is despised. Apparently you cannot be funny once a certain amount of people know who you are.
