You know what’s weird about Tom Cruise?

He really does come across as a nice, level headed, got his shite together, guy.
Yet he’s a Scientologist and supposedly very, very close friends with Scientology’s leader David Miscavige, who seems like an unbelievable evil, disgusting, narcissistic prick.
Maybe Cruise really is that great of an ‘actor.’

According to my wife who follows celebrities, he refuses to have any contact with his own daughter because she’s not a Scientologist. He’s a huge piece of shite.

You are only seeing a highly curated version of him that has been ran through publicists, stylists etc.

Separate the actor from the person, his movies are great but I am not going over to his house to watch college football.

Despite his Scientology bullshite, he seems like a pretty good guy (and most that have worked with him seem to think he's a class act and utter professional).
That being said, his Scientology shite is weird as frick. And as much as I think he's likely a pretty nice dude, it also wouldn't surprise me if it came out tomorrow that he took regular baths in the blood of sacrificed virgins or some weird shite.
The weird thing about him is his fricking teeth not being centered on his face. Once you see it you can't unsee it.

Seth Rogen has described a “bizarre” meeting he had with Tom Cruise, in which the actor allegedly tried to convince him of the merits of Scientology.
In an interview on Howard Stern’s radio show, Rogen recounted some of the stranger Hollywood experiences documented in his forthcoming book of essays, Yearbook, including a trip to Cruise’s house around 2006.
The actor began what he called his “bizarre” story by explaining that approximately 15 years ago, at the “peak” of Cruise “mania”, he and film director Judd Apatow were invited to visit the actor’s Los Angeles home to talk about films.
The visit took place shortly after the birth of Cruise and his then-wife Katie Holmes’s daughter, Suri. Rogen said he thought Holmes “had a vague ‘please rescue me from this place’ look on her face”.
Calling the encounter “very absurd”, Rogan revealed that the topic of Scientology came up, and more specifically “how weird” Cruise had been “looking in the press lately”.
Cruise allegedly told Rogen: “I think the pharmaceutical industry is making me look bad.”
Rogen said he thought that was “an odd conjecture to make”.
The Superbad star claimed that Cruise then started to talk to him and Apatow about the appeal of his religion, saying: “It’s like with Scientology. If you let me just tell you what it was really about... just give me like 20 minutes to really just tell you what it was about, you would say, ‘No f***ing way. No f***ing way.’”
In response, Rogen said he and Apatow gave each other a look as if to say, “Is he gonna bite? Am I gonna bite? Can we come out of this? Are we strong enough to have him do this to us and not be converted?”
Rogen added that he was very grateful the filmmaker was with him at the time because he sees himself as a “generally weak-willed, weak-minded person”. He added: “Thank god Judd was like, ‘Eh, I think we’re good. Let’s just talk about movies and stuff.’”
He said that Cruise’s pitch was “tempting” and “if I was there alone, I would be singing a very different tune right now” but he had managed to “dodge that bullet”.

I remember reading what Seth Rogan said about an encounter he had with TC. This is kind of how I picture him to be. Really intense about the shite he is into.

Seemingly everyone who encounters Tom in the wild says he's a genuinely great guy and kind to those who ask for pictures and want to talk. Remembers crew members family and birthdays, etc.
I think Scientology has dirt on him so he has to dance for them. I just can't reconcile that shite.
ETA:
Also, Tom Cruise movies have a very high floor. They are almost all, at the very least, entertaining. If I see a Tom Cruise movie available on a plane, I know it won't be unwatchable crap.
He isn't making Coen Brothers movies, but high floor entertainment.

He'd sit there seemingly disinterested for like an hour and then would snap in a fit of rage over something innocuous
why do they throw it 2 F*CKING YARDS when they need 10???
