Right. Old enough to be drafted to die in a war, but can't have the choice on tobacco?

Military personnel are exempt from this law. They can still buy at 18 according to the article.

I understand that MJ has some benifits but to say it's clean is not accurate at all

Not only do we trust 18 year olds to go to war at 18, but they can also vote . They can be trusted with stuff as important as that but can't be trusted to decide on smoking or drinking beer? Ok.

Voting and war is immensely more important responsibilities. It is idiotic.

What does a pack of cigarettes cost in California? Seriously...10 years ago, when I was out there in San Francisco area, they were already @ $5.50 a pack which was double what they were in KY.

Don't know about California but I see signs in Boston showing they are around $14-15 per pack.

Alcohol and tobacco should both be 18.

Disagree. Smoking should be 18, drinking should be 21. Those three years make a major difference in maturity.

Prolly 18 for weed.

If 21 for alcohol, why not for tobacco?

"Cleaner" I didn't say it was oxygen. It's just not nearly as bad for you as cigs.

Mainly because of the difference in how you consume them.

The age you can die for your country should be the same age you can purchase tobacco. Liquor is a different story because it affects other people directly

The thing about MJ is quality control. Do you really know what is in it when you consume it? I do know that Tobacco has also kinds of nasty stuff in it along.

The California proposal stalled for six months until lawmakers agreed to retain the 18-year-old tobacco age for military personnel and passed it in early March.

It would be nice to add alcohol under the same rule.

I've been out of that game for a while but generally speaking people aren't "cutting" weed, its a bud off a plant.

From my understanding, now-a-days everything is cheaper and much higher quality.

They also expanded the law to ban smoking in businesses, including people that work from home.

This is the kind of tyranny you want Cali? If you run a business from your home you can have the nanny state come in and tell you you can't smoke in your own home if so desired?

And a can of dip is like $6 while a pack of smokes is lik $10 I'd imagine.

Gonna be a lot of pissed off Marines at Pendleton and 29 Stumps.

Eta: just saw where it's still 18 for military. They saved themselves a riot.

This is such an uninformed post.

Its a flower from a plant. Its not "cut" with anything or mixed with anything.

I wish people had to take a class on pot. Its ridiculous how badly programs like DARE and politicians/police departments have made it seem like its heroin or meth.

What about that tomato you ate last night for dinner? What is it "cut" with? Do you really know what is in it when you consume it?
