Have a 4 and 3 year old right now and it’s awesome 95% of the time, with the other 5% being mostly an absolute war at bedtime every. single. night.
If you’re saying I’ll look back on that fondly, I just don’t see it.
You won’t remember the 5%. Trust me.

I dare say there are not many parents who don’t look back on pictures and get a bit emotional.
These two always get me…

No, but I deeply regret my priorities when they were young - and older. Missed far too much

I’m currently going through boxes of photos and separating them for my kids. It is a trip down memory lane and does make the emotions flow!

Mine are 6 8 and 9. My 9 year old daughter is beautiful, I mean people make comments that it's gonna be tough. Long blonde hair, blue eyes, pretty and in shape, top of her class. Scares me. My 8 year old son is extremely smart and capable but emotionally charged, also in great shape. He's got attitude issues I have to stay on top of. My 6 year old seems to have add (not adhd) as forming habits has been tooth pulling. I also have 2 year old twin boys.
I just wanna say, teenagers is what I felt confident in while scared of young kids. Now I feel like it may be the opposite, that i kick arse as a dad of young children and that im going to struggle w them as teenagers because I fear I won't be able to handle them making the growing pain mistakes when I preventively guide them away prior. I know thats going to kill me and I'm afraid it's going to separate how open they are with me.

I am in the phase now where I’m taking all of those pictures and videos. It sometimes occurs to me that I may never want to look at these again due to the feeling you’re describing.

I was thinking about this too. I think you’ll be ready for them when it gets there. I didn’t think I was ready for a newborn when they were born but then it just happens.

It’s definitely a good sadness. My favorite ones are when my 5 year old would take videos of him and his younger sister. Just let them go crazy with it.

I don't like looking at old pictures of any kind. Just makes me feel melancholy. Especially now that so many of my family are dying off.
Probably an immaturity on my part but If I never saw another old picture again I'd be ok with that.

Twice a week, minimum. My oldest just started Kindergarten and I swear she was just learning to crawl. I'm savoring every second with my 2.5yo and 4mo based on that lesson with my oldest. It goes too fast

Won't go into detail, but my 10 year old has come up on a whole suite of new hormones and is a completely different person. My heart is having trouble handling the new her and the remembering the old her and it gets me.
