I just found out the lady who lives down the street from me passed away yesterday evening.

She was 92 and in very good shape for her age. She was outside watering her flowers and started feeling bad. Got in her card, drove to the hospital.. And while getting checked out by the doctor just passed away. Nothing was wrong with her. Vital signs was fine before she passed, but just like that.. died.

It seems like it's rare to see someone just simply die of old age.. It's usually a complication of something.. That comes with old age or what have you.. But..

No one just dies of old age. Something happened that wasn’t evident to the doctors.

You don't die from age. Something has to stop working and you die.

Having watched my grandfather suffer with dementia for three years before passing, I pray I never have to watch this slow process again. Good for her. Hopefully her family was mentally ready for this event, though.

Negative. It could have been a million things wrong with her. Undetected heart disease, cancer, etc.

I am sure it will be.... soon. Unless one of her family members move in it.

She died of natural causes.. Which means, something, due to old age, caused her death... Which is pretty much dying of old age.

Historically coroners and medical examiners would classify deaths by natural causes or old age but dont do so nearly as commonly today. It is common for elderly people to die due to muliple factors related to several age associated diseases (heart disease, atherosclerosis, diabetes, osteoporosis, dementia, hypertension, etc).

My grandmother was working in her garden 48 hours before she died, and then died very quickly in her sleep. It’s the way I’d want to go.

Well then she died and they didn't find out what caused it. She was old, so it was probably something associated with old age.. Which is... dying of old age.

I'm not sure of a mechanism of death that isn't natural. Killing is natural. Maybe death by ghosts? IDK.

No, it’s called dying of some sort of illness, disease, or ailment commonly occurring in old age.

Saying someone died of old age is just something parents tell their kids when they’re too young to comprehend anything else.

Nah. A heart attack, disease, pneumonia, influenza, cancer, diabetes. All are considered death by natural causes.

Suicide or homicide is considered an unnatural death.

She had something wrong, they just don't know yet.

I have a friend who is an ER physician. He said that technically, everybody dies from shock.
