We did one pretty soon after all the COVID stuff ended. It was not up to the usual standards from our cruising experience. We haven't considered doing another one.

See and we were worried about that. We obviously had credits and offers but in the age of "due to covid were allowed to offer you a subpar product without further excuses" we decided against it.

People can say what they want about cruises but the service is always top fricking notch...you're so taken care of I swear sometimes I could forget to breath if a little bartender from the Phillipines doesnt come and remind me.... not shocked that suffered

A cruise to me is moving from spot to spot in my Xpress while pursuing the largemouth bass

My rule for any boat is, if I cant captain the thing, or have a direct say so in its itinerary, I'm not getting on it. I realize I am in the minority and something of a control freak, but I'm not ceding control of my life for 7 days to someone/some company.

Being on a cruise boat is like being in prison with a chance of drowning. Cruise passengers fall into one of three categories--the newly wed, the overfed and the nearly dead.

Stay away from carnival and you will be fine. Cruises are great on the right line.

Especially the short cruises. Never do less than 7 days. The longer the cruise, the more riff-raff gets priced out.

I wouldn't mind going on an Antarctic cruise.

We're doomed. The fatigue of traveling? Goddamn, I've scheduled a 11 hour flight to Frankfurt, a 12 hour wait in the lounge, and a 12 hour flight to Johannesburg, and I wasn't fatigued when I got there. Maybe you're one of those types of people that books the lowest price stuff on Priceline or Expedia, and then get surprised when you don't have assigned seats, or a 7 hour layover in Chicago, etc.

IDK, for most people its a really low barrier of entry to see more of the world. Most people probably don't want to go and just wing it, and probably don't want to deal with the logistics of travel planning either.

Nowadays I think there is really no excuse for the latter IMO though. There is so much free material on basically anywhere you want to go, AI can literally travel plan for you, and its easier than ever to find deals.

That's because you've never been on a Crystal or Silversea cruise.

Easy traveling. You don't have to worry about food and lodging. Going on an 18 day cruise out of Sydney to New Zealand , Tahiti and Hawaii. Can't wait. The line you travel on makes a huge difference.

I’ve been on 4 European cruises. None of them when I was a newlywed, never got overfed, and was no where close to nearly dead.

It’s an amazing way to see numerous different countries without having to constantly pack, and unpack. Some of the most beautiful sights I’ve seen were on these cruises.

Taking your family on a European cruise when your kids are in their teens and early 20’s is a fantastic experience and wonderful way to spend high quality time together.

Have not been on a cruise and no plans to do so. My wife likes to plan our trips herself, and I like to occasionally alter those plans with a spontaneous exploration.

If it did run out on the morning buffet, work into afternoon dishes, if it didn’t run out for lunch, work it into dinner, etc etc. You may have shrimp from the breakfast buffet that winds up in a gumbo the next day. Dude, school lunchroom’s did this for years! Cornbread squares one day, strawberry “short cake” the next. Meatloaf one day, spaghetti the next. You follow?
