Stealing? Investments were made. You paid into SS to watch your boomer house go from $20k to 400k and your stock portfolio to increase 30x over last 50 years

Who are you voting for that is reducing gov spending?
Spending other people’s money is just too easy, especially when one can enrich themselves greatly in the process. The system requires principled and disciplined men to make hard decisions, but has also evolved to make it damn near impossible for those men to be elected.

Medicare. Medicaid. Social security. Welfare programs. Subsidies.

If you add the word corporate in front of them, who gets the credit and corporate welfare outpaces people welfare almost 2:1.

If you allow people who don’t pay taxes to vote they will always vote to take more from people who do pay taxes. The politicians will give it to them because it’s how they get elected.

I used to say this too. There's just so many levels to this. Is it old politicians causing this? Is it young politicians getting bribed with power too quickly? Until we start from scratch, nothing will change. BIG government is not here for us. Left or Right, they are there for themselves.

Sure, they have basically no skin in the game.
Why did the boomers plan so poorly that they have to rely on this?

What a bunch of failures.

I mean, you're literally doing the same thing. You want to frick a bunch of people over for your benefit. How are you different?
I want the future generations of our country to thrive, and it is the duty of old to sacrifice for the young.

In the boomer universe, it is the duty of the young to sacrifice for the old.

You do understand it is Democrat spending and policies that created the debt we are in…. Correct?

It’s been both sides about equally. Don’t look at Reagan’s deficit spending.

If your job offered you a pension, is it poor planning to plan to use it?

Would cutting back on defense help? You need a strong military but is a trillion a year excessive?

We are funding defense at a record rate now. They're lobbying for a $1.5 trillion budget for next year. The standup comedian, Hegseth, just asked for another $200 billion because "killing bad guys" is expensive. If they can't kill bad guys with a trillion fricking dollars......frick em.

As far as SS and Medicare goes, I'd like to get to a point where we could legitimately see how much fraud and waste is going on with Medicaid/Care and Hospice. Medical fraud in this country is at a staggering level. Just make the agencies do the bare minimum that is required of them to prevent that fraud and we'd be much better off.

That said, it is all a racket that has devolved into, "I'm gonna get mine, and you better get yours." Maybe, cynically, that is the best approach considering our elected officials keep getting richer while they spend our country into the gutter.

End result of QE is banks making loans to people.

Unless and until people quit gulping it up, the “scam” continues.

Give me a heads up when it’s about to go down, please. I’m retired and heavy into treasuries and bonds right now.

I would like to be among the 1st to thank all the people for gulping! Early retirement owes some credit (pun intended) to you!

You dumb mofo, pensions are gone or mostly going away. Everything else is being taken away for the younger gen but stuck with more debt.

It’s crazy how boomer glasses work. I knew you were a troll but forgot you’re also a selfish idiot

Yes, to rely on something that not only isn’t guaranteed, but also is done at the expense of others, is incredibly poor planning.

Yes, but how fast could a Somali-owned daycare spend that much? Get with the times, man, those are rookie numbers!

You’re the one dodging. Rationale is that we need a functioning country for more than the next 5 years of your sorry life
