Does adultery substantially affect a divorce settlement in community property states? I know it’s not typically factored into custody, but I’ve also read it isn’t factored much into the division of property/assets, either. Unless the cheater was blowing wads of cash on his or her lover.

If her attorney is worth a shite, she'll claim physical abuse (and make up injuries/pictures while she has a restraining order) as a reason to leave the marriage and that's why she had an affair. Her attorney will find a sympathetic judge, and you'll be totally fricked, evidence be damned.

Look, I think most of the people saying they'd stay calm and film it are full of shite, but your case is pretty stupid.

My wife and her friends were having a convo and she calls me over and asks "What would you do if you walked in on me cheating?" I told her it depends on what kind of day I was having, if I had a bad day at work, you may not survive, if I was in a really good mood I may just laugh and walk out. She says "What do you mean I may not survive, what would you do?" I point to my corner of the bedroom where my katana case is. "Oh my God, so depending on what day youre having, I have a 50/50 chance of living or being carved up?" I say Yeah, but there's a 100% way to avoid that..... DONT CHEAT
