I know you're just having a little fun with Louisianans and mean no harm but quite frankly I'll side with the Louisianans every time when it comes to them vs some of the local GS/OB residents who constantly bitch about tourists. Sick and tired of the local geezers who long to go back to the pre-Hurricane Frederic days when the area was nothing but stilt houses. These are the same people who bitch incessantly about the extra $30 to $40 million tourist dollars the Hangout Festival brings in each year. Heck, all the Yats and Cajuns from NOLA and South Louisiana make GS/OB so much more fun. North Alabamians could learn a thing or two about chilling the f out and relaxing from you South LA baws

As for comparing the beaches in GS/OB to the ones in P'cola/Navarre/Destin/30-A/PCB, Florida wins that one going away. Grew up going to Destin and I'd argue there are very few beach in Northern Hemisphere much less the U.S. alone prettier than those so that's no knock on GS/OB. I do think one thing I like better about GS/OB is more access to restaurants, bars, and islands by boat than Destin. You've got Crab Island in Destin which I'd awesome but you have Bird and Robinson Island in OB not to mention the other islands, Pirates Cove, FB Beach Club, Tacky Jacks, Cobalt, the Wharf, etc in OB. Just an observation

Well said. I agree with the entirety of your post.

Whereabouts are you?

We're moving to Baldwin County in the near future, but we've not yet decided exactly where.

God isn't that the truth. Aside from the 2005 National Championship game, I attended a wedding at the prestigious "Mountain Brook Club" a couple of years ago...

"I'm from Mountain Brook."
"Oh, I'm from Homewood."

A bunch of slack-jawed braggarts that really don't have much money in comparison to other states - even surrounding Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida (sorry Mississippi).

There's a reason your 7,000 square foot McMansion is valued at $700,000. That'll get you about a 2/2 and 1,500 square feet in Austin. Take your leased 3 series and kick rocks.

No one is calling y'all out. Just says that you know when someone is from Louisiana.

This is why when we get in the car this Saturday to go to the beach we will continue driving through Alabama.

You've clearly not been to Gulf Sores/Orange Beach/Ft. Morgan in the post-Hurricane Ivan era. Very clean, nice, quiet, more family oriented destination. Given its expansion over the last several years, there is clearly demand to be there.

We went to Orange Beach last summer for the first time in 10 years and we were really pleasantly surprised. We are passing on Destin and going back to Orange Beach next week. There is not as much to do in Orange Beach but its less expensive rentals, less traffic and less crowded beaches make for a more relaxing trip.

Every time I see someone turning the wrong way down a one way I make a bet with whoever I'm with that once they pass they will have a Alabama plate on their ride... I win about 80% of the time. The other 20% is Texas plates.... there must not be a such thing as a one way street in those damn states

Not doubting that. But when it comes to the Bayway and Causeway in Mobile, it's Texas and to a lesser degree Louisiana vehicles clogging up both.

BREAKING NEWS: People on vacation are drunker and louder than locals.

I have lived a lot of places, Louisiana tops the list for the number of people that cannot enjoy any activity without drinking.

Why do people from Louisiana stop in the trash pit of Gulf Shores? Drive an hour down the road to nicer Florida.
That's funny. The trash has invaded the Florida beaches also.

The half capacity crowd at TS during the 2nd half is impressive. Them beers and whiskey won't drink themselves out at the tailgate.

BOOM
really tired of the "rabid fanbase" shite. We dont have an exclusive on it. Outside of baseball, I don't find LSU fans anymore "rabid" than other big schools with legit athletic programs.

Yeah we are drunk and loud. We party like a motherfricker and spend a shite ton of money where we travel. I bet the local GS businesses have no problem counting Louisiana bills.
