gonna speculate that they looked at the stats, crunched the numbers and based the move on what the dollars said.
I would agree and would also love to see those numbers

God damn...this is a colossal frickup.
Go read the comments on their FB site.
They are getting eviscerated.
This is like a butcher supporting PETA and calling all people who eat meat (so...normal people) murderers

This must be why they postponed their IPO. Haha.

Trying to be the cooler of Hipster/sjw's generation.
They know these retards will piss money away, even if product quality isn't up to par. They don't know any better, they just know they paid $500 for a cooler, their f'in cool.
Yeti stickers on Soccer moms SUV, as far as the eye can see.
Move over 30A and Destin stickers, Yeti is hitting the Burbs

Maybe Yeti is fed up with the way the NRA preys a certain type of person for profit, influence and cool photos... someone needed to take a stand on taking advantage of these people and if Yeti isn't the perfect company to do so I don't know who would be.
The hook is hidden, but the colors are too garish.

One of favorite comments from a tumbler posting:

Anyone got it any screen shots? I can’t see the posts people are referencing.

It’s not posts. It’s comments on unrelated Yeti posts.

They are headquartered in Austin. That's all one has to know to figure out their decision making.

If I was RTIC or even Ozark Mountain I would post a picture of the CEO shooting an AR dressed out in full kit with a direct link the NRA membership page on the Home Page of the Website

Jesus I clicked on the first post referencing some concert. That is some serious flaming going on. Roasted is the absolute best adjective to describe this backlash

Proud K2 and RTIC owner here.

I don't understand why people get so pissed about this. I am a supporter of people having guns, growing up in South Louisiana, like many people on this board, everyone had/has guns and I always assumed most people had a gun in their house, etc...
But who needs the NRA? I understand they provide gun safety classes, etc, but I went to a gun safety class when I was a teenager and it wasn't anything associated with the NRA. IMO, all they do is scare people by making people think their 2nd amendment will be taken away so that people send them more money. They are nothing but a lobbyist group and I am anti-lobby (I understand it will happen to some degree no matter what, but I don't like the idea that companies and special interest groups who have the most money have the most influence with out lawmakers).
Pharmaceuticals, insurance companies, etc don't spend millions of dollars a year on lobbying so that laws can be passed, that are in the best interest of the people. The only reason the NRA needs you (individual members) is because they need your money. Just because a company cuts ties with them isn't going to make me stop buying their products.

Companies ought to stay out of politics. Their marketing departments seem mostly clueless.
For real.
This is one of the worst ones. Whomever at Yeti, an outdoor/sportsman brand thought it was a good idea to speak out against one of the things those very outdoor people deal with is just flat out stupid. YETI’s marketing dept is idiotic.
