Little fella got moved to a cannula a week or two ago...now he's on the low flow. Docs say he should be out of NICU by Thanksgiving at the earliest, and Christmas by the latest. God is good!

I'm am damn happy to hear that, Hemp! That little baw is a fighter.

Update

Some great news for a Monday.

quote:

Wilder update: day 156

If you don’t believe in God or the power of prayer I want you to take a real good look at Wilder and his story. God did this. There’s no other explanation. Wilder might be going home on ZERO medications. Y’all. This just doesn’t happen. Not in cases like this. He was so sick. Like, the doctors really didn’t know if he would survive. Seriously. They have told us that. They didn’t know what his quality of life would look like even if he did get through this. They have told me over and over again that this just doesn’t happen! They are still in awe of this miracle child. Y’all: God is REAL. Prayers work. Miracles do happen. Wilder is proof! Back to the medications... his pulmonary hypertension team did an echo of his heart today. It is almost GONE! They thought he would need to be on Sildenafil for at least a year. They are weaning him off of it starting tonight and think he will go home without it. They will do a follow up echo in a few days to reevaluate to make sure he’s good, but they think he can do it! WOW! They also pulled his ng tube out this morning so no more feeding tube! I hope that Wilder’s journey has caused people to have faith again. I hope he has brought people to pray again or maybe even for the first time. I hope he has brought people to appreciate the little things in life. But most of all, I hope he has brought someone to Jesus. God has brought us so much joy and allowed us to stay strong when we weren’t even sure if we could. He has provided us with SO much this year. We are forever grateful for everyone who has prayed for Wilder, prayed for us, donated to us, given us gifts, and given us words of encouragement. We could not have done this without the support of every single one of you. And for that, we will always be so thankful for. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Wilder’s testimony is truly remarkable and I am so excited to see what the future holds for us!

He ought to be out of the hospital by the end of the week. Brother and SIL are still going to stay with family in the Woodlands for a little while, then transition to Savannah to stay with more family.

I watched him eat sweet potatoes last night and almost cried.

You tell that little baw that he's had a shite ton of people praying/pulling for him. Some of us are degenerates, but that doesn't matter.

I've had the GoFundMe tab open since the day you posted it, and I am damn happy to read this news.

You're gonna make me cry. Nobody makes me taste my own tears!

Looking forward to taking the little baw to the Fiddler's Convention after eating a Whitt's sandwich and a shake from Kreme Delite.

He's out, baws. Thanks again for all of your prayers, support, and donations to my wonderful brother and sister-in-law, not to mention little Wilder. He is a miracle baby, and I firmly believe that his road to normalcy wouldn't have been possible without the love shown to him by this den of vice and iniquity.

I love you all, and am forever in your debt. Y'all will get a picture of the two of us as soon as I can see him, so you can make fun of me relentlessly. We will even allow him to say Geaux Tigahs 11 weeks out of the Fall.

God Bless.

I've heard more crying than I am comfortable with.

Look out for a Wilder Williamson on the PGA about 22 years from now.
