Sounds fun. If you really want to help, head to denham springs and pick a house.

This is what I was thinking.

Fundraisers seem better for stuff far away

The BRAF flood relief fund. Which if you know anything about BRAF, you'd know it isn't going to waste.

Would like an accounting and audit of how the money will be used.

The event was a lot of fun and a much needed break (everyone I spoke to agreed). I think everyone was so physically and emotionally exhausted from the week. We also got to pick up an awesome Louisiana art piece for the house and a salon gift card from the auction.

Here is an idea, quit judging others, do your own thing as you see fit and don't expect someone to pat you on the back for your contribution.

Exactly. This reminded me of something I saw on Linkedin Friday. There was an article how Shell gave 500k to flood victims and someone bitched that they shouldve given a lot more since Taylor Swift gave 1 mil. Its amazing how people bitch anytime others do things differently than them or they think they didnt do enough. Every little bit adds up when these things happen and I applaud anyone who helps whether it by giving money or helping to gut a house. It all adds up.

As soon as he gets back from vacation. I kid

I didn't get home until after 6 and was exhausted, glad the event did well. Was worried timing may have been bad with everyone in clean up more.

And to everyone bitching about those hipsters not helping, it's best those girly men stay home with the women and drink spritzers and what not. Just because they have beards and wear flannel shirts doesn't mean they can swing a hammer or risk chipping a manicured nail.

Lots of people out their were with their kids as well. Not like they want to haul their newborn or two year old to a demo zone house. It's their way of contributing.

Just tell me there's a few cold Coors lights left for when I finish today. I'm sure they floated the yuengling and PBR kegs.

This exactly. We had a lot of great people and businesses come together to put on a great event. Don't be so quick to judge how someone contributes to the recovery of BR and the surrounding areas. Many of these same people have been gutting houses and out on boats saving people. There is not a "right" way to donate whether it's by time or money.

$46k to be exact

not bad for having a goal of $12,500.00

Shout out to Overpass Merchant guys and others for organizing this event. Great time!

Why does it have to be one way or the other. I'm on day 3 of pulling sheetrock. It ain't fun. But if I finish in time I'll go by the Overpass and support this too. It's not a competition.

It doesn't. That's what I said. Go to the fundraiser and support it-it's a good thing. But don't call the guy an a-hole because he suggested something else.

And no it ain't fun. But beer and jambalaya make pulling shite like this all day a lot easier.
