The Pope need not be a warmonger… but God is no kind of pacifist.

Perhaps. But that ain't what he said and has nothing to do with what he said.

Who said he changed? He shows love and vengeance in both testements. The belief is that we changed so God reveals himself differently.

New testament has a progressive God.

Saint Joan of Arc believed that she was acting under divine guidance and that such guidance was why she was able to lead the French army in 1429 to victory at Orléans that repulsed an English attempt to conquer France during the Hundred Years’ War.

Is his stance that a Saint was lying or wrong?

How did we change?

We’ve been doing shenanigans since Eve tasted the fruit and Cain slew Abel.

We go to confession and then it feels like it never happened.

Go to Mass and communion and then you're squared away. It's a good system.

The Catholic church must be so confused. One Pope blesses wars, the next condemns them, the next blesses them, the next condemns them.

It's almost as if God isn't playing a role in the actual selection of popes.

Two by two AND seven by seven… depending on clean/unclean.

If you’re going to make fun, at least be accurate.

So Pope Leo would have been cool with the following examples:
- Letting Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini abuse the populace, commit genocide, take over the world, etc, without any resistance by combat aka war?
- allowing tyranny of a ruling populace over a subservient populace, such as slavery or colonization? Which are only opposed by combat aka war?

Not only that, he somehow was able to keep the lions, tigers, bears, etc from eating the smaller animals they normally prey on.

When discussing this years ago with someone they told me that god gathered the animals for Noah and kept them tame on the arch. My next question was... "So if he was able to do all of that what did he need Noah for?".

And it is only 6000 years old.

Breaking out Einstiens time relativity to prove the bible is a funny juxtaposition

Sounds like England was the aggressor and she was responding to that attack.
