On this particular excursion the boyfriend picks us up and we drive out to Malibu to have brunch at this restaurant overlooking the ocean. It’s a pretentious place with a pretentious name: Geoffrey’s, (pronounced joff-rees). To be fair, the view overlooking the ocean side cliff was spectacular and they seated us under a covered patio with a great view of the Pacific coast. After 10 minutes or so two ladies were seated directly behind me and a third lady joined them shortly thereafter with her Yorkshire Terrier in tow, on a leash. They all hugged with their big hats and did the double cheek kiss then proceeded to tie the leash around a vacant chair leg and order some kale salads for starters and some entree’s for later. The daughter’s boyfriend considers himself quite the foodie so my wife and I are pretending to enjoy our pickled ginger avocado and scallops while telling them how great this place is,
These are the types of places if anyone takes me to I save my good PFG shirt for, my nice MSU hat, and make sure to ask them if they just serve a regular cheeseburger and a miller lite on draft.
That way it ensures whoever took me to eat that crap never does it again

Basically, she feels like I haven’t helped out enough with a lot of the little things around the house and feels I sit on taking care of things. She is not applying that I’ve been a shite bag or anything, it’s just feels like when things doesn’t get done she thinks the responsibility falls on her. Like fixing things around the house for example. I’ve always been supportive financially and letting her make career changes if she wants to. I’ve always provided and always tried to give her what she wants. I’m always doing stuff with our son and been a great father to him.
Your wife is a selfish bitch who no longer wants to pull her weight

We might eat Thanksgiving dinner at 8 pm. My wife is on the IR and I just woke up an hour ago. Was up late tying fishing lures and in an altered state of consciousness.

As expected most of the drama here revolves around divorced people. "moms boyfriend" lulz.

Unfortunately it’s over. We took some time apart for a few weeks before she finally told me she wants a divorce. I tried everything during that time to show that I’m trying and working in it. I got some of the things done and was starting to work on fixing some of the other things. We had this issue last year and things was getting better or at least I thought it was. I got complacent at some point and it looks like it has cost me.
She was just looking for a reason to make you out to be the problem. Nothing you could have done to fix it her mind was long made up she just didnt want to be the one who caused the divorce. I’ve seen it happen with friends of mine, they’ll bitch about one thing and the guy fixes it then it’s something else. Guy does exactly what she wants and she leaves anyways. It’s their way of pushing you to the breaking point until you finally say look enough is enough and they’ll say “well I’m leaving. You refused to change”

I’m in charge of frying the turkey. Thinking about accidentally not cooking it all the way and letting the chips fall where they may
Sounds childish and petty to me. I think I see why your folks feel the way they do.

First turkey in the oil. Man this table top turkey fryer I got about 5 years ago is the best. Very little hassle at all. 1.75 gallons of oil and turn the dial to 375. Only drawback is the biggest turkey it can do is 14 lbs.

Do yall like hosting Thanksgiving at your house or having it at somebody else’s house? I love having it at somebody else’s house so I don’t have to clean up and I can leave when I’m ready. I had it at my house once and we ate at 1pm and people didn’t leave until 2 am. I like the fact that after I hang out with family and eat, I can go home lay on the couch watch some football or movies and relax.

Exactly this. If everyone got divorced because of procrastination the divorce rate would be 95%. She was looking for a way not to be the bad guy. I still think she has someone at least picked out for a landing spot.

Very small gathering. 9 total and 2 don’t eat turkey. I’m doing a 13 and a 12. Only taking the 13 to my mom’s house. The 12 pounder is mine for sandwiches, Turkey salad, and maybe a small gumbo.

Buddy has my Turkey on a rotisserie, supposed to pick it up for 11. Wife just got in the shower. Been sitting on her arse all morning watching me cook.

Hopefully he brings it already cooked or you aren’t having turkey in 2 hours.
