Rapidly approaching the witching hour since most southern families eat between Noon and two.

With the first two variables - it will only take a little stoking for you to make this thread shine.

Start putting ideas into the old lady’s head about the commie.

Help us out.

I would have tested the old man strength theory.

Mrs. Vader and I just arrived at my MIL’s house. No one else is here yet except my 15 yr old daughter who’s been here since Tuesday helping her Meme put up Christmas decorations. So far they have 5 of the nine Christmas trees up with each room decorated in the same theme as the tree. My wife’s aunt also lives with my MIL (they’re both widows in their 70s). She is apt to say something to spark some arguments and hurt feelings.

We’re waiting on the following to arrive:

Wife’s cousin #1 and her husband: pretty normal folks other than being pure narcissists. Oddly enough they’re brining their own turkey and dressing even though my MIL has made both and is known for how good her Thanksgiving food always is.

Wife’s cousin #2 and her husband: she’s a blue hair leftist that’s into cosplay and her husband is a full blown literal communist. He’s also very near sighted and sits around holding his phone about 3 inches from his face. His table manners are just above those of a starving dog.

Wife’s aunt and her son: she’s like 92 yrs old and has zero filter. She’s reached the age where she will tell you exactly what’s on her mind. And she’s virtually deaf so she’ll say it very loudly. I look for some fireworks between her and the communist. Her son is mostly a normal guy but rather quiet. Though he could say something to offend the communist.

My wife’s aunt and her daughter. The aunt is in her late 70s and loves three things: gambling, cigarettes, and booze. The daughter is crazy and a raging drug addict. I don’t see them staying too long as they cannot drink, smoke, or do drugs while here. There could also be fireworks between these two and the elderly aunt.

My son and his girlfriend. I’m looking forward to seeing my son. It seems things are getting serious between him and his girlfriend, who my wife and I both really like. I’m expecting a proposal will be coming in the not to distant future. I’m ready for that. I want grand babies.

As for me, my plan is to eat good food, chill out, avoid drama, and watch football.

This has potential

Again, if you don’t allow her that’s fine. We just won’t come. It’s not a statement, we respect people who don’t want dogs around them. That also doesn’t mean we are going to leave our dog.

What if your friend or family has their own dog who does not like other dogs, or has cats that freak out? You would just never go to their house because you are that attached to your dog?

Mine will finally be uneventful. The alzheimers patient passed away, the outspoken conspiracy theorist passed away, and the next-get-rich-quick-scheme guy also died.

It’s always an issue with them showing up way too early since they have nothing else to do, so I even padded the time a little.

Mrs. H2O woke up this morning and started on the sweet potatoes and took the dog out. I just woke up and she’s back in bed to sleep for a bit. In laws are out of town so we have the place to ourselves. About to go pick up a pizza for lunch and do some cooking/football watching until we head over o Thanksgiving at 4.

Went over to the in-laws. My MIL thinks it Christmas (she already has her tree and Christmas decorations out) and gave the kids some gifts. Now my 5 year old is upset because he thinks Santa skipped our house this morning.

Is your mom standing in the kitchen in front of the oven because she's freezing? Won't move out the way.

Good thing about us hosting is I control the thermostat. My parents keep their house at 78 degrees until I get annoyed enough to cut the air on and turn fans on.

Nope, not me. Been getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night the last couple of weeks so just decided not to set an alarm this morning since we didn't have anywhere to be. Headed to pick up a pizza now and some champagne for dinner later tonight
