re: Yearly Pet Vaccinations: Are They Necessary?

Exactly.
I also find it odd that most on this board go ape shite when you suggest skipping/refusing a child's vaccines. I mean this place comes unhinged if some newbie parent says they may not vaccinate their child. But talk about vaccinations for your pet and it's the complete opposite. Why isn't the pediatrician a money grubbing crook just using unnecessary vaccinations on your kid to buy another car, boat, etc?
I guess animal diseases are a complete sham just like TB, polio, etc.

Every town has a cheap vaccination person, usually less than $30 for the year. I do know this, if you don't keep good records on your pet, many shelters won't allow you to adopt. (which is dumb since they kill animals by the thousands)

I sure don't. Do you know how to read? All I said is that vets get more of the margin than the vaccine manufacturers. How do I know this? I develop animal vaccines for a living. A major component of my job is product lifecycle management and I am privy to exactly what we sell our vaccines for. I never said vets are greedy I simply said they get more of the margin than manufacturers do on vaccines.
Making biologics is expensive. We have to grow cells, infect cells, manage frozen seed stocks of everything, conduct expensive testing, own and operate expensive lyophilization equipment etc etc. Animal health companies cell these vaccines for cheap for a multitude of reasons but the fact is we don't make shite off vaccines.
1 dollar a dose is a bit high actually for some core dog/cat vaccines....
I love vets and pet owners, they are the reason I have a job I love. Now do I think there is any value in giving a 5 year old dog yet another CAV CPV Or CDV vaccine, hell no. I also don't personally know any vets that recommend yearly vaccines for those diseases. Rabies is different obviously due to its zoonotic and legal status.
Puppies must have distemper, parvo, and adeno for their well being preferably after maternal antibodies have subsided. Any value in doing these yearly in older dogs, I doubt it.

My dog went to the vet the first year or so that had him from being a puppy. My wife was 7 mo pregnant. Vet told me dog had heart worms, treatment was $1400. Declined to treat him. Haven't been back to the vet since. I give him heart worm meds every month from Canada vet.com. apparently heart weekend die in 2 years on their own. BTW, my 7 year old Bassett hound still lays around and does nothing.

Vets and vaccines aside, in what business does the manufacturer not make less per unit than the middleman/business? Isn't that kinda the idea?

Maybe but I was just saying that the 1 dollar a dose price for vets on vaccines is accurate. Dude was all militant saying that was bullshite and he doesn't know shite.
We are talking about biologics, research the margins on animal pharmaceuticals and things change. Hence why I said animal health manufacturers have reasons for selling vaccines to vets for cheap...

Pet vaccinations are not necessary yearly.
They have been proven to cause autism in certain breeds of dogs.
They have all kinds of poisons, like formaldehyde and mercury in them that will do absolutely horrible things to your dogs.
They are just part of big Pharma pushing getting rich and actually hurting your dogs.
What else did I miss?
Oh yeah, if you are going to poison your dogs with vaccines, at least don't give them all at once. Those antigens are just too much to expose the dog to at once. Horrible things.
Anything else?

and tests for cats, it's a waste of money.
Only if you keep them indoors! If you have pets that go outside and come into contact with other domestic or wild animalS vaccinations are a must. Annual vet check-ups are just a part of being a responsible pet owner.

0/10 but nice try.

A zero out of ten basically means a crappy attempt. I don't think one can score a zero out of ten and still be credited with a nice try.
A nice try alone is worth a few points.
As far as the actual content, just parroting some of the genius medical advice I hear from a few people on this board.
And fyi, I am a huge supporter of getting vaccinations. Just regurgitating what some of the idiots about vaccinations for kids to show how stupid they sound...

In point of fact you were. Did you specify per dose? No. You said vacs are a dollar each.
Not to mention any additional markup from distributors like Butler or others who also may put a few points on the product.

Per dose is easily assumed. I wasn't talking about a box of them
