I don’t know about Moo State but UM & Clemson have pulled strong from the Mid-Atlantic region for decades.

honest answer is about 20 years ago when they got good in football again. No I'm not being facetious, look it up. Once they turned into a dominant powerhouse again they became the cool school for yankees to escape to and cosplay as a cowgirl for a few years. There is a shocking amount of current students from the north and west.
The school hasn’t been majority in state since the 2000s at least. When I was going for games in the 2010s I beleive it was majority OOS

Pretty disappointing to have money to pay out of state tuition and a sorority coach and send ur kid to ole miss or auburn.

Two of my kids went to Ole Miss and a large percentage of the students are from out of state. The university loves getting that out of state tuition. And SEC schools are the cool places for these kids to go.

When my daughter was a rush coordinator, their freshman pledge class was the largest ever. And Ole Miss was going to DOUBLE the size of the freshman class the next year.

It’s all about the money. More students = more free money from the gumment.

We met dozens of parents from the Northeast and Upper Midwest when we went to see LSU play versus Clemson last year.

They did a whole mini series about it. To their credit they showed both sides... including those who didn't get a bid after going through the whole process with a coach and one who didn't rush but went in through the back door at the end.

I'm sure "Miss QR" Kaitlan Collins spent plenty on the process.

I was still a year away from college but this story still gives me great pride. After a party one of my (future) brothers decided to go steal a forklift from a construction site and use it to bulldoze the SAE lions. They didn't even made an effort to fix them in time for fall rush. National forced our hand and he was deactivated....the price of becoming legendary.

Believe it or not, Alabama recruits Silicon Valley pretty hard and makes the final list for a number of girls who want to go to Alabama and live their best life in a sorority. This are not the colored hair types, obviously
