I’m a hand shaker by trade. Not really but it comes with the occupation. I stopped when the shite hit the fan with this global pandemic and we were told not to. I’m now over the global pandemic and would prefer to go back to shaking hands. However, there is no way to know if the party you’re intending to shake with shares the same views as you. So what to do? I think if you extend the hand of friendship most men will naturally grab it and shake. But then do they regret it afterwards? Have you now offended them? I’m not sure how to proceed. Bumping knuckles is for sporting events and the elbow thing is dumb as frick. Thanks for your feedback.

I enjoy having an excuse not to shake hands and plan to continue this practice. I really don't like people and this whole social distancing craze is right down my alley. I wish it could be permanent.

I meet with several customers daily, probably 10-15 a day, and haven't had a single person refuse.

I have never stopped working during this scamdemic and encounter numerous strangers and acquantances on a daily basis. Some have objected to my offering of shaking hands and wanted to fist or elbow bump, but I tell them it is ok. If they have concerns about shaking but think a fist bump is completely fine in light of their concerns, I take a mental note that I am dealing with a moron for future use.

Just because you're over it doesn't make the pandemic disappear

Hopefully the party you're intending to shake hands with is intelligent enough to not take offense. If you extend the hand of friendship to me I'm going to say something, even if its business related

Why even risk it?

I've moved past shaking hands as a greeting and gone straight to just spitting in each other's mouths.

Never stopped. Grow up and don’t let fear run your life. I can’t imagine the damage I’d be doing to my kids if they saw their big, strong dad wearing gloves and a mask and avoiding handshakes. That’s for women.

Considering how often I’ve seen people leave the restroom without washing their hands (even after taking a dump), I don’t think it’s unreasonable to prefer a Howie Mandel like fist bump or something.

In fact, there are entire parts of the world, which incidentally has had fewer COVID-19 problems (Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc.) where handshakes are not the norm, man or woman.
