I don't think Bham applied for a team. You had to bid.

Expect XFL cities to be where NFL and AAF haven’t landed yet.

STL, Austin, San Diego, Portland, Albuquerque, and OKC to name just a few

Appeal to Hispanics which I don’t think the NFL does a good job of.

Pretty hard when having "hispanic" players seems to be the only way marketing teams think is key to appealing to them. Not many hispanic football players other than kickers which isnt going to be a draw. Ha.

Plenty of non-illegal 1st gen+ nfl fans out there btw. Many get trashy drunk, so really kind of hard to "want" to appeal to them. Most 1stgen+ "hispanics" are no different than white folks. They dont care about soccer like original immigrants. Just advertise like normal, and you'll be fine.

------As to the OP------

St louis seems a little odd, from a "splash" perspective, for the first one unless they wanted small city in middle america that wouldnt cause a ripple. Most likely had the biggest investor/bid. Heavy hispanic cities like san antonio would be pretty good choices.

The poster who said the WWF popular cities is an interesting call. Not cause of the old connection, as much as, those need/want to support entertainment of some kind. Places like Boise that support their local college team would be a good one to look at. Still need some bigger cities though, and sprinkle in a few "Green Bays" which boise would fit that mold.

Stadiums would be key though. I'd say Dallas with the Cotton Bowl, but to big of a stadium to fill out of the gate. Need something smaller to avoid looking like no fans are there. These little perception things will be key to success.

What you talkin' about Willis? Mark "Dirty" Sanchez GOAT.

Plus he'd be perfect as an XFL starter. Tebow could get back in the game. Perfect for both the latino and LGBTQ demos.

St Louis,

Laugh all you want, that stadium will have the highest attendance among XFL teams guaranteed, if nothing more than to turn away from the NFL

Really? Because St. Louis was fully capable and willing to support an NFL product, and fought til the end to keep the Rams. Moving to Los Angeles simply tripled the franchise value though. St. Louis football fans were pissed, the city was pissed. This is a direct move in response to all of that.

St Louis was likely chosen because it was a reasonably good football town ditched by the Rams.

San Diego and Oakland could be chosen for the same reason, as an XFL team won’t need all the extra bullshite in the stadium that got those teams to bolt.

I think Orlando has been chosen already. They will play at the Citrus Bowl.

Shreveport has had two pro football teams. The Shreveport Steamer of the WFL in the seventies and a CFL team in the nineties or early 2000s.

and a baseball team which also failed. The only sport that seems to survive here is hockey oddly enough. There is also a semi-pro soccer team that has basically shut down, but I'm not going to count that on the same level.

All this being said I would be so pumped if we landed an XFL team...but our sports history isn't encouraging.
