A friend of mine, Gary, (not his real name) oversees a group of managers for his region. Gary has not been employed very long with his company (less than 3 months) and has been asked several times by his boss, Nancy, "when are you are going to write up Chuck (not his real name)?"
Gary previously communicated multiple times to Nancy what his plan is for Chuck (to his defense, Chuck is a recent new-hire and inherited a very bad team that should have been fired long before he even started). Since that wasn't the case, Chuck has been cleaning house and recently hired four new directors and all are set to start this month.
Nancy agreed with Gary's plan (let's clean house, give Chuck the people he needs and who want to be on his team before we truly evaluate Chuck). She agreed all this time with Gary's plan, only adding that she would like to give additional support to Chuck. This was all set to go, until at the very last minute, Nancy said she did not have any resources to provide to Gary and to make do with what he has. Fine, no issues on Gary's part.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and Nancy is again asking for plan to "write up Chuck" ignoring the fact that she didn't follow through on what she said she was going to do. Chuck doesn't talk too much to Nancy, however Nancy has a severe disliking for him (almost personal).
A couple of things about Nancy:
- she's a woman
- she runs the company
- she makes impulse decision
- she's very reactionary and knee-jerk
- she fired someone after only 5 weeks of being with the company
What would you do if you were Gary? He doesn't support the write-up but knows that if he doesn't write up Chuck, he may be fricked by Nancy.

If I were Gary I’d go work for someone not named Nancy

Gary needs to realize he screwed up taking the job and bail out. That place is a dumpster fire.

Yes, we know, she's a woman.

You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of Nancy would you?

Easier said than done. I would tend to think that many potential employers might frown on less than 3 months on job before looking to exit?

Nope. Don't want any. And you wouldn't either.

I’d look for a new employer because if the boss is this fricking impulsive, I don’t want her over my future.

If Nancy is reputed to be able to suck a golf ball through 50 feet of hose pipe, then Gary should sit tight for a bit.

Thanks god you clarified, I was so confused until then.

One more important fact.
Nancy is now having HR inquiring to Gary, "when are you going to write up Chuck?" HR mentioned they are here to help with the write-up.

Interviewer:
“So, why are you leaving your last job after only 3 months? Doesn’t that seem like something we’d frown on?”
Gary:
“My boss is named Nancy. NANCY.”
Interviewer:
“Say no more Baw. We’ll call you ASAP.”

Gary needs to assert dominance over Nancy by sendimg pictures of his brown star to Nancy's husband in order to establish a homosexual red herring relationship with said husband thereby recking Nancy's home life and reputation in societal circles.

Do you..I mean, does Gary have any written back up to his discussions with Nancy regarding her earlier, aborted plans for Chuck?
Posted on 10/15/19 at 2:31 pm to Will Cover
Gary makes a deal with Chuck. He's going to write him up exactly as Nancy would have him do it. Even go to Nancy and have her give him some of her harsh one liners to really nail Chuck to the wall.
Under Nancy's guidance, Gary rails Chuck right out of the company. Chuck goes to employment lawyer and sues Nancy and her company for wrongful termination. Wins big lawsuit when Gary turns on Nancy and testifies for Chuck. Chuck and Gary split the money and live happily ever after.
