He got the most cliche gift after saying he didn't want to be cliche. There was no winning on either side, after his disregard and her text.

Dude's weak excuse of "not wanting to be cliche" was lame and likely a lie

That being said, pox did herself zero favors with her premature public melt.

Major mistakes on both sides appear evident

all this. its possible the dude got into his routine and didnt give specific thought to the day and had a lame excuse instead of owning it (the brain is wired for routine).

pox called him on it before giving him a chance to get right so she wont know if the dude was planning anything or not.

the recovery was less than impressive with cake/flowers either way (unless it was the favorite cake from childhood and some ridiculous flowers)

If think you made a poor choice of significant other. Seems like a real pos. And yes as others have said, he straight forgot and picked up flowers and a cake at rouses. Happy bday!

Pox's bf forgot to say HBD in the morning.
She proceeds to go crazy on him via text during the day.
He shows up after work with cake and flowers.
The white knights ride in to tell Pox how much better they are than her bf and that she should leave him.

think that's about it

Assessment:

He 100000000000% forgot her birthday, don't care what he says. She should be pissed bc I'm sure her birthday was mentioned at some point prior to it actually occurring. Not sure about the text melt, I'll have to go read about it (what page #). Cake and flowers were definitely picked up bc she "blew up" on him; no way he does that if she doesn't.

I wouldn't let him forget about this for a while. Idk why I'm telling Pox this, bc she's a woman and they hold on to stuff forever anyway.

GOOD DAY

On their 50th wedding anniversary Pox will be heard saying, "I'm so glad I forgave him that time he forgot my birthday"

That's total bull shite. You may not want it in the way of an instant message, but every man wants the woman to do at least something for him on his special day. Whether it be cooking in the nude, buying you a gift card for Top Golf, or leaving him the frick alone, all men want at least something for their birthday from their woman.
Nope, not every man. I want my wife to do all of those things every or any day, I don't care if she does it on my birthday or just next Tuesday.

I would break up with a girl who didn't give a frick about my birthday, since that highly implies they don't give a frick about me.
Sounds like your high maintenance.

Haha! The biggest issue is that he doubled down by saying he didn't wish her HB because want to be cliche, vs saying it right then and avoiding the whole melt down.

Of course he forgot. I like how people think he didn't say anything cause he had a surprise set up for later.
