Imagine this happening with the NOPD of the 70s or 80s. First, it probably wouldn’t have happened. If it had though, can you imagine the hell there would be to pay?

Imagine this was 10 white guys beating up a black man.
Treat those assholes the same way. Charge them with domestic terrorism, hate crime etc.

NOPD has PROBLEMS!!! They are overrated and down on manpower to an almost critical level which Cantrell is powerless to stop.
Plus the report of an NOPD officer refusing to respond to a rape in progress last week in the Quarter when he was close by does not inspire any level of public confidence either

I get it's a free country and the off duty officer could have been out getting some exercise on his bike and taking in some fresh air.
However
Screwing around in the french quarter near Bourbon at 3AM riding your bike back and forth in front of a group of young adult/late teen males while exchanging words leads me to believe he was indeed shite faced or the absolute dumbest individual drawing breath.

Too bad he didn't have his piece on him and to take them all out. That's the only way to start controlling crime. I don't care if you are black, white, etc, etc, etc. If you try robbing someone the best outcome is for those who tried to rob is to have their body laid out in the street.
And why wasn't there no one jumping in to help the dude? If you see 4.. 5 people jumping one person you got to jump in. I know people don't want to get involved and it is risky, but that's another thing that needs to happen in order to make this shite more risky for people who try to rob someone.
I remember one time when I was young (7.. 8 years old) I was with my sister and her boyfriend (now husband) and we were going to the store or something and in the parking lot this one dude was getting the shite beat out of him by a group of dudes. My brother in law threw his truck in park, ran out, grabbed one of the dudes and laid him out, grabbed another, laid him out and grabbed another to get him off the dude and they took off running. He helps the dude up, comes back in the truck and just went on like nothing happened. People who jump someone are usually a bunch of pussies.

Nope, the "allegedly" in the story is because of lawyers.
All it takes is 1 of these criminals to get off, get acquitted, not get charged, and they can hire a lawyer and sue the media and the reporter for slander.
This is taught in journalism on like day 1.
I hate it too, but thank your local attorney for this phrase.

There so many things wrong with this video but the ONE thing that stands out is that neither the cop or these other people know how to fight PERIOD. Why do people swing all wild and way from the outside like that? If that cop just tucks his head in and stays inside going after chins he probably puts everyone to sleep
