I remember Elder confronting Harry Lee while he was negotiating with some guy to buy David Duke's Rolodex. Seemed like kind of a dick move, but it definitely made for good TV.

I wasn't a regular radio listener, however, I just happen to be on the road and listening to her radio program when she went off drunk. Actually, I shouldn’t say drunk, it sounded like she was on acid, or some other high potency drug.
Everyone who was listening realized that this is probably the last time they were ever going to hear Andre Travigne.
It was ashame because I really liked her. She was a black woman who didn't kowtow to all the black "woe is me" and "the whole world is racist" bullsh!t. She really told it like it was. She often referred to her son, who went to St. Aug and then some really good private college (Georgetown, maybe?) on a track scholarship or something like that. She talked about how she always taught him self-sufficiency and not buying the bullsh!t that he couldn’t get ahead in life because he was black.
In her younger years on TV, she was an attractive woman. I remember seeing her in public and she had a really nice modelesque body. She was tall, lean, and had legs that ran for days.
The reports were that she just kind of lost it when her son was murdered. The rumor was that her son was killed over drug money by someone he knew. However, as far as I know, they never solved the murder.
She died a few years later. When I heard about her death, it filled me with a little sadness because before her son died, she seemed like a very nice and outgoing lady.

A lifetime ago, i worked as an usher at the Superdome to help pay my way thru college.. There was a Monday Night Football game circa the mid 90s when the Fox crew had just started their pregame show (“Terry, Howie, JB”, etc) and i was working one of the elevators that wen t from the press box down to the locker room area.. Karen Swensen was a new cub reporter whom i had only seen a couple times on WWL, she gets on my elevator.. Boy, what a petite little hot minx she was.. she was real friendly, im thinking i might have a shot- then she starts grilling me about whether or not id seen Howie Long, and where she might have a good chance of meeting him… Right at that moment, i knew my geeky , LSU freshman skinny arse had NO shot… that’s a true story.. i dont know if she ever met Howie Long, but i do know that she eventually married an NOPD officer who passed away fairly recently
.
ETA it may not have been MNF, since i dont think the Fox crew did them- must have been a playoff game or something.. and tbh i think back then that crew may have started on CBS, im old and cant remember
.

It’s ok. If you’re an up and comer in the television business, you better have a genius level education or be Hot as fire.

I've been curious about this for 20 years now. WTF was she so animated about? Surely it wasn't total gibberish.

She’s still all around Houston social scene thankfully! Without her there is def no reason to watch the Houston news.

I don’t live in the area anymore but damn Sheba is fine. When they had Sheba and Tamica that was top talent.
