A competent owner has a great opportunity to reopen the spot as "Besserr Biergarten"

This is not an acceptable opinion in those environs.

Then don’t open a business that relies on such people as customers to be successful, moron.

That would be like me opening a restaurant in Gary, IN, openly proclaiming I hate black people (who comprise 80% of the population), then being shocked when I have no customers.

He’s free to have whatever opinion he wants. But it’s probably not a great idea to express one that alienates your potential customer base

This place sounds like a Sausage Fest. Needed a better ratio of split tails to hard legs.

I hope someone more savvy and less preachy than him sees the concept can work there. I thought it was a great addition to downtown.

From what I understand several people tried to buy the property/business from them back when things got pretty rough but were refused, instead they wanted someone to lease the property but the price was pretty ridiculous. Looks like it's no longer listed but with a bit of updating and better management the place would do just fine.

Why can’t business owners shut the frick up about politics and religion. You got 50/50 chance of pissing someone off on both.

Had some serious talent there around 2017. Apparently, this guy was friends with a bunch of sexual predators that he let hang out there and it scared a lot of female customers off.

I’ve always thought Parish would do well to put something downtown and add cocktails.

Parish definitely needs a new spot for their taproom. It’s been a few years, but I was very disappointed with their little space in Broussard. It kinda sucked actually.

It's always that way, there are just as many opening. Competition for bars and restaurants is super tough here, if you're not good and in the right spot you won't be around long.

It's happening in a lot of places. Boomers are retiring, some sell their businesses while some just shut it down.
The local economy isn't any worse. Unemployment is staying stable and retail sales are up. CGI, Oschner, First Solar, and few others are hiring. Lots of new construction going on with the university, school system, and road projects.

This one was run by a hack. The new biergarten on Bertrand should do pretty well since it's run by a successful operator and in a good location near UL and Moncus Park.
