It’s not a soil science question. It’s the name of a music genre invented by drunk people, not agronomists.

I always thought of red dirt country to be SE alabama and into Georgia. Never heard of Texas country being referred to in that way.

I always thought it was southern rock with more blues riffs. Roots in the Arklatex region.
