Roman reigns told wwe he will not be attending mania due to the virus and his past with leukemia. Reigns vs Goldberg is officially cancelled.
Reports are coming in that other unnamed wrestlers are saying they are not attending anymore!

The Universal Title match has already been taped with a mystery opponent in place of Reigns.
Big dick Dave said the show is pretty much in the can and lots of other guys pulled out. So the show won’t be the match card as you see it on Wikipedia.

I wonder if they will still attempt to charge the same amount for PPV? Sounds like the product won't be worth it.

I think Triple H was overseeing the taping of the boneyard match and the Cena/Fiend match on location last night while part one of the show (including the Universal Title match) was being filmed.
Watch it go and be something stupid like Corbin.

Knowing Goldberg’s recent history in wwe, whoever it is will be a short match. Could possibly see someone coming out to bash or mock goldberg I which Goldberg destroys him in seconds to win.

the "main" matches were supposed to have been filmed yesterday... so that would fit your theory
today was supposed to be the day for the bulk of the undercard matches
