When I was a kid my dad and I would always go downstairs to eat breakfast together. After we were done eating, we would make a plate for everyone else and bring it back to the room.
As an adult, I basically do the same thing. I'll go down and eat, and make a plate to bring back to my wife who is usually still sleeping.
Although it is worth mentioning not all hotel breakfasts are created equally. Some I will eat enough that I wont need to eat lunch. Others the food is basically inedible so Ill just grab a banana and either a bagel/muffin.

Did the hotel even know three of you were in that room?

Free breakfast at a hotel is great. Especially if you have a family! Oh the savings!
Bingo. When we take the kids to an Away LSU Football game, a hotel with free breakfast is a must. It's worked out great for Auburn(twice), Vandy, and Arky(3 times).
With us 2 and 4 chirrens, I come out saving about $60(2x6x$5 breakfast meal) for the weekend.

A father will always take the time to shame his children for sleeping later than him.

I always try to take advantage especially at a nice hotel that offers a real breakfast and not just some fruit, doughnuts and coffee

shitty hotel buffet breakfast
Stay at better hotels.
Like someone said Embassy Suites is legit. They’ll have bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, etc. even got a guy cooking omelettes any way you like it

Depends. Is the breakfast: sliced fruit, cereal and bagels? I'll take the extra rest.
Or is it: buttermilk biscuits & gravy, beignets, grits with cheese and bacon?
My arse is getting up.

It’s not “free”, just included in your rate. I wouldn’t set an alarm or anything, but if you’re awake, why not.
