Oddly specific Can't really say because my parents made us wake up just in general. It had nothing to do with the breakfast.

Funny - I remember so many hotel breakfasts as a kid on vacations, but I haven't had a hotel breakfast since childhood. I don't eat breakfast at all though.

The best is when you party all night in New Orleans and get back to the hotel and they're putting out the free breakfast.

Then you get free late night food and pass out.

Free hotel breakfasts weren't a thing when I was a kid. Dad usually just bought us a box of Pop Tarts to eat in the room. Sometimes he'd splurge and let us go to the breakfast buffet if the hotel had a restaurant. Even rarer event was when he'd let me and my brother order the French Toast off the menu instead of eating the buffet. That probably meant he got a handy from mom after we went to sleep.

Yeah my grandpa would always be ready for it. Now I look forward to it if it’s available. If they have some hot choices(egg, bacon, sausage) I am all in even though it’s generally shite.

No. We’d normally go a restaurant for breakfast.

I love breakfast. I would have gotten theirs to go and ate it also right in front of them in the room

Man, family vacations were another world from the vacations I take as an adult. We always stayed at something on the level of like Days Inn, La Quinta, etc. so not sketchy/dangerous but definitely not luxury accommodations.

I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Sharing the bed with my brother, parents making zero effort to be quiet because they wanted us to wake up early, the room smelling like the morning shite someone took while I hid under the covers wishing I was in my own bed.. good times indeed

Dad always looked for Holidomes(Holiday Inns with indoor pools) so mom would take us to the pool when we got there, and he could go to the bar and have a few beers and smokes. Some of those Holidomes were pretty sweet with the pool, miniature golf courses, arcades, ping pong tables, etc. I remember once one had a sauna. I had no idea what a sauna was at the time, and my brother and I went to check it out. Walked in and some lady was giving a guy(I assume her husband) a beej. They quickly scurried out.

It was engrained in me to act like an adult and stop bunking up with other dudes in hotels as soon as I was old enough to reserve a hotel.

I wonder if dogs watch the TV?

It's odd to me how my dog will jump up and become agitated when she hears barking outside but barking on the TV doesn't bother her at all.

Trust me, it's not free, you paid for it...

sleeping in , hung over...?

As a husband, and a Dad, I haven't been hung over in 22 years...

I seldom sleep in...I have two teens, life is busy.

Missing a breakfast sounds like my 17 year old...

that kid can sleep in on the weekends.

Yeah the free breakfast is always very nice. Especially when they have the waffle mix. Love a nice warm waffle with some chocolate chips melted inside.
